Hong Kong stocks rose on Thursday, lifted by gains in major technology shares.
The Hang Seng Index opened 126 points higher, or 0.49 percent, at 26,061, with turnover reaching HK$4 billion in early trade.
The China Enterprises Index gained 40 points, or 0.44 percent, to 9,203, while the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 0.63 percent to 5,822 at the open.
Technology shares advanced broadly, with Alibaba (9988) up 1.45 percent, Tencent (0700) rising 0.08 percent, JD.com (9618) gaining 0.81 percent, and Xiaomi (1810) adding 0.7 percent. Meituan (3690) climbed 0.9 percent to HK$102.1 after announcing plans to issue three tranches of senior notes totaling US$2 billion (HK$15.6 billion).
