JD.com (9618) is reportedly expanding into Hong Kong’s insurance market, marking another step in its local business push following ventures in e-commerce and supermarkets.
The mainland tech giant is said to be applying for insurance licenses in the city and has begun recruiting insurance consultants and related roles across multiple job platforms, signaling plans to build its own insurance team, according to local media reports.
Job listings show that applicants are required to hold relevant insurance licenses and have solid experience in Hong Kong’s insurance industry.
The e-commerce giant is also hiring for roles related to asset management and fund operations in Hong Kong, reports said.
