Town Health International Medical (3886) swung to a net profit of HK$12.73 million in the six months ended June from a loss of HK$47.7 million a year ago.
If the gains and losses incurred outside its ordinary course of business are excluded, the company would have recorded an operating profit of HK$16 million, according to a filing on Friday.
Revenue for the period was HK$900.9 million. It had net assets of around HK$3.44 billion, including net current assets of HK$1.3 billion, as of the end of June.
Driven by the demand for value-for-money medical services, the group is dedicated to optimising the layout of its medical centre chain in Hong Kong, aiming to establish integrated medical centres with multiple consultation rooms in populous residential communities, providing one-stop medical services, the filing said.
Looking ahead, the group will strengthen the layout of primary healthcare and the complementarity of specialty brands, and empower the managed medical network through technology in Hong Kong and focus on improving hospital operation efficiency and enhancing characteristic health management to seize opportunities of benefits arising from policies in the mainland, Town Health said.
