Asia Miles is extending the Miles Plus Cash payment option to Cathay Pacific (0293) and partner airline flight bookings, thereby allowing customers to pay using a mix of Asia Miles and cash when booking seats.
Members now have more options, freedom, and flexibility to spend their miles on flights to a wealth of destinations, while earning Asia Miles and Marco Polo Club club points.
Members can still use their Asia Miles for great value Standard Flight Awards, or from March 30 2021 by booking flights directly via the Cathay Pacific website with the Miles Plus Cash payment option.
This means when Standard Flight Awards aren't available due to strong demand, members can use their Asia Miles to pay for any other flight either in part or in full miles, using the simple 'slider' pay in the payment process. Choice and Tailored Awards will be removed from the awards chart on the same day to simplify awards.
With Miles Plus Cash, members can now book any available seat on any flights to all destinations available for sale on the Cathay Pacific website, including partner airlines. This means members will have more options, more access to seat availability and instant confirmation on their ticket.
To book, members can simply visit the Cathay Pacific booking website and log into their account, identify the flight they want and select Miles Plus Cash payment. Members will have the flexibility to decide the proportion of Asia Miles to cash payment that best suits them, from a minimum spend of 5,000 Asia Miles to full payment with Asia Miles.
Paul Smitton, chief executive of Asia Miles said, "We all feel a pent-up desire to fly as soon as normal travel resumes, and our members can now use their Asia Miles to fly to their dream destination on any flight that is available for sale."
