Cathay Pacific plans to operate nearly 300 return flights weekly between Hong Kong and the mainland during this summer peak season, a 40 percent increase from 2024, to meet growing travel demand.

The company is expanding flight schedules in 20 mainland cities and increasing frequencies on popular routes.
Focused on key regions like the Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Yangtze River Delta, Cathay is set to increase frequencies to major cities like Beijing and Shanghai.
Beijing will see seven daily return flights to Beijing Capital International Airport and Shanghai will receive eight daily return flights to Shanghai Pudong International Airport and 11 weekly flights to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.
Cathay is adding daily flights to Zhengzhou, Ningbo, Haikou, and Chongqing, with HK Express operating daily flights to Ningbo.
In addition, the company also plans to launch direct flights from Hong Kong to Urumqi from April 28.
