Tencent Cloud, the cloud business of Tencent, today announced the launch of its first Internet Data Centre (IDC) in Indonesia's central business district to support industries ranging from financial services, internet and e-commerce to entertainment, gaming and education.

The center completes the backbone access and networking of all major Indonesian and global internet services providers. It also combines Tencent Cloud’s own border gateway protocol to cover the country, Tencent Cloud said.
This allows Tencent Cloud to help reduce access delays to data and applications and help businesses and organizations in the country accelerate their digital transformation. It also helps customers meet regulatory and compliance requirements, providing more disaster recovery options in the Asia Pacific.
Poshu Yeung, senior vice president, Tencent Cloud International, said given that Indonesia's population young, it has a huge internet demographic dividend and its mobile internet market is quickly developing.
The internet data center will support, Bank Neo Commerce, a digital banks in Indonesia; music and entertainment streaming platform Joox; Aestron, that offers an enterprise platform as a service for real-time communication solutions, and WeTV, an entertainment platform in Asia.
