The loosening of immigration policies in various countries, including Australia and Canada, has also pushed up the number of inquiries, said Tina Cheng Tin-yan from Midland Immigration Consultancy.
Taiwan and Canada are the top choice of among young adults, while the UK is preferred by families. Retirees and professionals prefer a European passport.
Inquiries on emigration to Asia have dropped by 27 percent from the first half, But Turkey is favoured due to its low threshold of capital requirements and simpler procedures.
