Property tycoon Lo Siu-tong passes on

Lo Siu-tong, known locally as "Uncle Nine", founder of property developer Yu Tai Hing, died on January 2 at the age of 90, according to an obituary published by his wife, Lo Hui Kit-san.

Founded in 1966, the unlisted company has developed over 200 property projects in Hong Kong, including 100 Queen's Road Central. Lo was the 48th richest person in Hong Kong in 2019, with a net worth of US$1.3 billion (HK$10.1 billion), according to Forbes.

His eldest son, Alexander Law, owns budget hotel chain Bridal Tea House Hotel.

Second son Francis Law Sau-fai is a real estate investor and owner of Sunbeam Theatre while his third son Dennis Law Sau-yiu is the managing director of Yu Tai Hing, which has invested and directed films including Fatal Move and The Constable.
