Macao, the "Creative City of Gastronomy" under the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN), is set to host a grand culinary extravaganza that will captivate the taste buds of food enthusiasts from around the world. Organized by the Macao Government Tourism Office, the International Cities of Gastronomy Fest Macao will bring together renowned "Cities of Gastronomy" from China and Asia, showcasing their distinctive cuisines and culinary talents.
As part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR, this festival, scheduled to take place from June 14th to June 23rd, 2024, will transform the Macau Fisherman's Wharf into a vibrant epicentre of gastronomic delights. Over the duration of 10 days, the event will feature approximately 100 food and beverage stalls from Chengdu Chaozhou, Shunde in mainland China, Phuket in Thailand, Kuching in Malaysia, Iloilo in Philippines as well as Macao’s own cuisines, granting visitors to embark on a flavorful journey through the diverse culinary landscapes of the participating UCCN cities.
Beyond the diverse array of food stalls, the festival will also feature approximately 60 cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs from those cities, who will share their cooking techniques and insights into the rich food cultures of their respective cities during the 10-day carnival, providing both travellers and residents the true "flavours”.
