With heartfelt honesty, the Singaporean Mandopop star JJ Lin shared his health challenges with a heart condition during the last performance of his world tour on Sunday (July 13).
As fans erupted in cheers at Beijing National Stadium, the 44-year-old singer-songwriter revealed that he was diagnosed with heart conditions in April 2024, and has been primarily dependent on medication to manage his health daily.
"How much longer can I sing?"
Shocked by life's unpredictability, Lin told the audience that it was his first time feeling that the hourglass of life was depleting rapidly.
Lin pondered the question of "how much longer can I sing?" and stated that even if his heartbeat is out of rhythm, he will continue to work hard.
Reflecting on over 100 shows during the world tour, Lin expressed deep gratitude to the fans who traveled from around the globe to support him. He recognized their support as a primary source of motivation for both himself and his team.
Addressing the criticisms encountered during his career, Lin indicated his intention to respond with positivity and maintain his focus on music and performance excellence.
Feeling unwell during concert
Observant fans noted instances in which Lin appeared to struggle while performing "No Turning Back," as he turned away from the audience, seemingly experiencing discomfort that might have been related to stomach cramps or heart pain.
He was able to regain composure and continue singing shortly thereafter.
Additionally, it was observed that Lin has been wearing a smart wristband on his right hand, presumably for monitoring his heart rate.
In response to inquiries regarding Lin's health, his management company, JFJ Productions, confirmed that he is undergoing regular medical check-ups.
They expressed their gratitude for the concerns raised by fans and assured them that Lin intends to allocate additional time for rest and prioritize his health upon completion of his current commitments.
