The vision at VSA is to develop passionate, healthy and accomplished bilingual learners who are globally engaged. The VSA Scholarship Programme aims to promote their vision to ensure existing and potential students strive to reach their personal and academic potential.
Grace (Y8) is one of the awardees of VSA’s Scholarships for External Students. With the scholarship, she has been developing her all-around talents in academics, arts, and sports in VSA’s Middle Year Programme since last year. Grace has an inspiration in filming and animation. “VSA offers a lot of opportunities for me to develop my creativity. Design classes and activities in CAS clubs bring me real experience in multi-media production,” she said.
Galaxy (Y11) received the VSA Scholarship for her academic excellence prior to joining VSA in 2020. She has a keen interest in languages, especially Spanish, and has been able to extend her interest in the language in her current studies. She also pursues her passion for dancing while at VSA. “The focus here is not only on studies and I now have more time to explore my interest in dancing,” said the young talented dancer who led her own dance CAS club which she founded with classmates in VSA, to share their passion for Jazz and Hip Hop dance.
The school has over 150 CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) Clubs in the Secondary, 80 of which are created and student-led. The clubs are driven by the students’ own interests and allow them to engage in leadership and service. As alumni, Emma Wong, currently studying at Stanford University, reflects, “The supportive and nurturing environment at VSA encouraged me to focus my academic interests outside the classroom to creatively problem-solve and engage with the global community. Being able to align both my academic and social passions in a real-world context was a very unique and extremely rewarding experience.”
VSA’s Scholarships for External Students is now open for application.
