World's first humanoid robot combat tournament debuts in Hangzhou

The inaugural CMG World Robot Competition—Mecha Fighting Series launched Sunday night in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, marking a milestone in robotics innovation. 

Four teams of humanoid robots battled in the historic event, executing programmed combat techniques to disable opponents in a specially designed arena.

Team representatives involved in the event reportedly view the competition as merely the first step toward broader applications for humanoid robotics. They anticipate the technologies demonstrated during the tournament will eventually be adapted for diverse practical uses across multiple industries.
