The magazine invited individuals from diverse fields annually to nominate their choices for the most influential people across six categories: artists, icons, leaders, titans, pioneers and innovators.
As Hong Kong's sole representative, Chan was recognized in the Titans category, standing alongside other luminaries such as chief executive officer of AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) Lisa Tzwu-fang Su, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, tennis player Serena Williams and actress Blake Lively.
TIME editor-at-large Charlie Campbell recognized Chan’s contributions in driving Hong Kong Stock Exchange's IPO ranking from 10th to 4th globally in 2024 during a troubled time for the exchange.
In a male dominated industry, Chan has been praised for her effort in promoting gender diversity on the board, with single-gender boards plummeting from 800 in 2022 to just 85 in early 2025.
Additionally, Chan was also named one of Fortune magazine’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Business in October 2024.
Other globally recognized individuals on the list include Liang Wenfeng, founder of the Chinese artificial intelligence firm DeepSeek, US president Donald Trump, Tesla founder Elon Musk, popular K-pop group Blackpink member Rosé, and Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara.
