The MTR Corporation will enhance train services on the East Rail Line and Airport Express during the Easter holiday, while multiple chartered trains will be arranged on the High Speed Rail to facilitate outbound travel for the public.
To accommodate peak hours when many residents are expected to travel to the mainland, train services on the East Rail Line between Lok Ma Chau and Admiralty will be enhanced from morning to noon on Friday (Apr 18).
Train frequencies during the evening period next Monday (Apr 21) will also be increased to facilitate residents returning to Hong Kong.
In response to the keen demand for passenger travel, the High Speed Rail will arrange an additional eight pairs of chartered trains between Hong Kong and popular tourist destinations such as Guilin, Changsha, Chaoshan, Zhangjiajie, Nanchang, and Zhaoqing for tourist groups from April 18 to 22.
Furthermore, eight additional southbound trains will run from Shenzhenbei Station to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station on Friday and Saturday (Apr 19), and seven additional northbound trains will operate from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Shenzhenbei Station from April 20 to 21.
During the Easter holiday period, some short-haul services will also be operated using 16-car train formations to meet travel needs.
Separately, the first train from Hong Kong Station to the Airport and AsiaWorld-Expo stations on the Airport Express will depart at 5.35am on Friday.
