Chief Executive John Lee had announced in his Policy Address that authorities would convert the existing Kai Tak Community Isolation Facility into the Youth Post, where young people coming from outside Hong Kong would stay and interact with locals.
Mak said the operator will convert 60 percent of the premises into youth hostels, while organizing international exchange programs featuring cultural, artistic, and sports elements.
The facility is expected to open by October this year.
