Commissioner of Police Raymond Siu Chak-yee urged the public to download HKSOS, an outdoor safety app directly linked to the 999 Call Centre, before engaging in outdoor activities.

Speaking at a ceremony for a trail run named after HKSOS, the police chief noted that 135 citizens have been successfully rescued in 56 operations after using the mobile app in emergencies, with an average rescue time of just 2 hours.
Siu highlighted that the HKSOS app is user-friendly and designed to cater to the needs of diverse groups, urging residents to promote the app to their friends and family to safeguard their safety in life-critical situations.
He also stressed that the police will continue to make good use of technology and strengthen community collaboration in the future, making the services provided by HKSOS more widely accessible and efficient.
