The Security Bureau announced on Tuesday that a Hong Kong woman, who was rescued from a call center gang in Myanmar, is returning to Hong Kong alongside the task force.

On Sunday (Feb 2), Thai authorities reported the rescue of a 31-year-old Hong Kong woman who had been held by a gang operating a scam call center in Myanmar.
Following her rescue, the woman was brought to Thailand. The Security Bureau's dedicated task force traveled to Bangkok to meet her this morning. They reported being pleased to find her in good health.
The woman expressed her gratitude to the task force for their efforts in coordinating with various units to facilitate her prompt return to Hong Kong and reunite with her family.
The Security Bureau extended thanks to multiple parties for their support and assistance, including the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of Thailand, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Chiang Mai, the Consulate General of Myanmar in Hong Kong, the Royal Thai Consulate General in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok, and relevant Thai authorities.
The task force also mentioned that they are actively following up on the remaining nine request-for-assistance cases involving Hong Kong residents still abroad, striving to facilitate their return as soon as possible.
