The HZMB integrated information dissemination platform issued a notice on Saturday night, indicating that peak outbound vehicle traffic may occur from 4 pm until late evening.
Passenger rush hours returning to Hong Kong via the port are anticipated from 8 AM to 12 pm, while those heading to Macau will experience peak traffic between 8 am and 11 am.
Also, traffic heading to Zhuhai is expected to peak from 3 pm to 7 pm, according to Zhuhai authorities.
“Passengers are advised to travel during off-peak hours and to take a break at the port clearance building if they encounter congestion,” the maga bridge operator said.
On a record-setting note, the bridge recorded 170,000 inbound and outbound passenger trips on Saturday, following over 150,000 trips on Friday, marking the highest daily total since the bridge's inauguration in 2018.
Vehicle traffic also reached a record-breaking 25,000 trips on Saturday.
However, a significant traffic jam was reported early Sunday morning at the Hong Kong port of the bridge, with some drivers stuck for over an hour and expressing frustration over unclear instructions.
The Immigration Department said border checkpoints in Hong Kong recorded 176,000 crossings as of 10am on Sunday, among which 102,000 people entered the SAR. Some 15,000 travelers arrived in the city via the West Kowloon high-speed rail station, it added.
