There are few spots in Hong Kong where visitors may see plum blossom, with Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden in Tai Po being one of the most popular choices.
According to the farm, the flowering Mume Blossom and Taiwan Cherry Blossom Index both hit 50 percent on January 24, and several visitors saw more than half of the flowers in bloom last Saturday.
Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden is open daily from 9.30 am to 5 pm, with special arrangements for the Lunar New Year from January 28 to February 1. Visitors are recommended to head to the T.S. Woo Memorial Pavilion for the best views.
Tai Mo Shan Country Park is another popular plum blossom viewing destination, with a large number of trees currently in full bloom. Residents are encouraged to visit during New Year's break to see the bloom at the entrance near Route Twisk.
Meanwhile, various floral displays in the Greater Bay Area also caught the attention of Hong Kong residents, including Shenzhen's Blossom Garden, which featured a wide field of flowering plum trees in bloom.
Visitors can take the Shenzhen Metro Line 2 and get off at Qiaoxiang Station, exiting at C for a 15-minute walk.
Apart from plum blossom, early cherry blossom has recently emerged in On King Street Park, where some cherry trees are beginning to bloom, attracting photographers eager to capture the beauty.
