Overturned concrete pump truck disrupts Eagle’s Nest Tunnel

A concrete pump truck overturned in the Eagle’s Nest Tunnel on Tuesday afternoon, causing the closure of several lanes on Tsing Sha Highway, Sha Tin bound.

Around 4 pm this afternoon, police received a report of a traffic accident involving a heavy-duty truck that lost control shortly after entering the tunnel.

The vehicle crashed into the tunnel wall, overturned, and slid forward some distance.

Rescue personnel arrived at the scene and confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.

The Transport Department announced that part of the lanes on Tsing Sha Highway will be closed, advising drivers to use the remaining lanes. 

Traffic in the area is currently congested. 

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
