The Transport Department (TD) announced on Monday (Jan 6) that regular quotas for Hong Kong cross-boundary non-commercial private cars using the HZMB will be equally divided between company and individual applicants.
Hong Kong permanent residents who are employed in Macao with remuneration, or those who established a registered company in Macao, can apply for the individual quota.
Meanwhile, the company quota is available for companies registered in both cities or for Hong Kong companies associated with a Macao company.
Successful quota holders are expected to be able to travel between Hong Kong and Macao via the bridge starting as early as March 31.
Additionally, the TD reminded that the permit is valid for no more than three years, expiring on March 2028, and quotas will be reallocated upon expiry through the application.
