Hemma Amber, the Housing Society’s subsidized housing project located on Anderson Road in Kwun Tong, is 26 times oversubscribed as 11,566 applications were received by Wednesday’s deadline.
The number has yet to include applications mailed to the Society by post and submitted at offices in housing estates.
The Society said some 11,400 were White Form applications filed by private housing tenants, including some 10,600 applications filed online.
The remaining 136 were Green Form applications filed by public housing tenants.
The Society said they expect to receive more Green Form applications as the form must be filed in person and verified by the offices of the Society or the Housing Authority in public housing estates.
Among the applications, 7,317 were one-person households applications, taking up about 60 percent of the total number. The number also included 60 Green Form applications.
Only seven of the applications were from residents affected by the redevelopment of the Society’s public housing estates.
The Society expects to draw ballots and announce the results in the first quarter of next year, and will notify successful applicants to purchase their homes in the second quarter at the soonest.
The project provides a total of 422 units and buyers can expect to move in by the end of 2025 at the soonest.
