The Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong has won 109 seats in the District Council polls that concluded on Sunday, taking up over 40 percent of the 264 seats of the district body.

The party fielded 121 candidates and won 109 seats, with 68 selected through indirect elections in the District Committees constituencies.
Coming in second is the Federation of Trade Unions, with 27 of its 46 candidates being elected. Eighteen of them were elected in the geographical constituencies.
Following closely are the New People's Party and the Business and Professionals Alliance, which took 15 and 12 seats, respectively.
The Liberal Party secured five seats, running seven candidates, including three in the geographical constituencies.
Professional Power and a new political group - the New Prospect for Hong Kong - each won a seat in the district body.
The sole candidates of Roundtable, Path of Democracy, and the newly formed Bauhinia Party all lost.
The 264 newly elected district councilors will be joined by 179 government-appointed councilors, along with 27 ex-officio members from rural committees in the new term of the council, making up a lineup of 470.
