Jumpin Gym expresses regret over rainbow game ‘scam’ claims

Jumpin Gym USA on Tuesday expressed deep regret toward false accusations made by an angry man who slammed the family entertainment center over the “unfair” Happy Rainbow game. 

This came after Jason Liu, 21, called the police on Saturday and filed a complaint to the customs as well as the Consumer Council after he was denied a prize at Jumping Gym’s Tuen Mun branch while playing the Happy Rainbow game. 

Liu called the game a scam, as players only get a prize in the coin-pitching game when their tokens land within the colored area without touching the boundary of the rainbow, but he alleged the tokens to be larger than the colored area, making it impossible for anyone to win a prize. 

In a statement released yesterday, Jumping Gym USA brushed off Liu’s claims, saying that all colored areas of the rainbow patterns are bigger than the tokens, and it expressed “deep regret” towards the false accusation. 

The company explained that the branch manager ruled the token touched the boundary of the colored areas in accordance with the guidelines and rules and then refused to give Liu a prize. 

After further explaining, the manager disagreed with Liu and took a photo of Liu’s token vertically above. Yet, Liu still insisted he should be rewarded the prize and reported to the police. 

Officers later arrived, and the branch manager placed a token in one of the colored areas and took a photo again to showcase the requirements. The two aides still failed to come to an agreement, and police advised Liu to follow up on the issue through other channels.
