The defendant, Wong Chun-kit, earlier pleaded guilty to one count of possession of offensive weapons in public place.
He was convicted and sentenced by Eastern Court magistrate Bina Chainrai yesterday.
On November 14 last year, the defendant was found in possession of seven cans of naphtha, two cans of kerosene, four lighters, two empty glass bottles and two laser pointers near the Landmark mall on Pedder Street.
The defense counsel said the defendant’s physical condition shows that the latter is suitable for being remanded in a detention or a rehabilitation center.
Magistrate Chainrai accepted the defense’s argument since the the defendant's report also suggested so.
