Police arrested a 26-year-old male operator of a telegram protest group called "SUCK Channel" that has been involved in last year’s anti-extradition protest.

The man was arrested on Wednesday (August 26) in Hunghom, he is charged with 7 counts, including incitement to public nuisance and incitement to arson.

Police said he is a computer technician, and is the creator and operator of the telegram group called "SUCK Channel."

Superintendent Wilson Tam Wai-shun of the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, said police had discovered people inciting crime through "SUCK Channel" since August, last year.

‘The telegram group involving ten thousand members, have constantly posted updates inciting people to commit violence, destroy government and transport facilities and cause traffic jams,’ Tam added.

The police claimed they would not rule out the possibility of making further arrests from the ongoing investigation.

Police have removed the telegram group.
