Chinese automaker XPeng’s (9868) shares surged over 7 percent at one point on Monday morning as investors bet on its upcoming launch event on Thursday, where the company will unveil the new versions of its G6 and G9 models.
The shares later traded at HK$92.95, up 3.3 percent from its previous close.
Among other EV makers, Nio (9866) jumped 3.5 percent to HK$34.85, while Li Auto (2015) edged up 0.5 percent to HK$111.50. But Zhejiang Leapmotor Technology (9863) and BYD (1211) fell 2 percent to HK$40.90 and 1.7 percent to HK$349.20, respectively.
