"Thanks be to God! We have found Matthew, and he's alive!" Tsang's mother, Amy Chan, wrote on Facebook at 2.30 pm, "We will announce details later. Thanks to everyone!"
Tsang was found at a bush near Lo Shu Tin in Shatin and sustained scratches on his limbs. Firefighters provided him with a long-sleeve tee and energy drinks.
Tsang even survived extreme weather - the typhoon signal No 9 and the black rainstorm signal - in the vast wilderness of the mountain.
He was conscious while being airlifted to the Eastern Hospital for treatment.
The rescue team comprised of police, firefighters, and volunteers stepped up their search for Tsang Hin-chit this morning at Ma On Shan Country Park and Shatin.
Tsang, who will be sitting this year's DSE exams, left his school during the lunch break last Wednesday (Oct 4) and took the East Rail Line to travel from Mong Kok East station to Shek Mun station, where he was last seen.
The police said no suspicious circumstances were detected.
