Crack on West Rail track temporarily fixed, services gradually restored

Non-peak-hour train services on the West Rail Line has gradually resumed after repairs to a crack found on a section of track, the MTR Corp says.

Two additional minutes would be needed for travel from Tuen Mun to Hung Hom station.

This morning train services were delayed due to broken rail detected on a section of rail between Austin Station and East Tsim Sha Tsui. The West Rail Line trains operated at a slower speed.

Now that servcies have gradually resumed, the MTR said maintenance workers will monitor the situation, while a detailed follow-up will be done at night.
