Lohas Park construction site cluster pushed to 19 cases

An additional 16 Covid patients have been confirmed by health officials today as being related to the three infected at the construction site of the latest phase of private residential estate Lohas Park, which totaled the cluster to 19 patients so far.

The Centre for Health Protection said as of 12am today,  it has recorded 103 additional confirmed coronavirus cases – six imported and 97 local – bringing the tally to 6,500 cases.

Of the fresh local cases, the Centre for Health Protection's Dr Chuang Shuk-kwan said 82 were linked to previous local infections and 15 from untraceable sources. 

Chuang said the 16 locals newly infected were related to the construction site in phase nine of Lohas Park. Of which 14 of them are construction workers and 2 of them are family members of the workers.

On outbreaks in care homes, Fong Shu Chuen Day Activity Centre/Hostel for the disabled in Shau Kei Wan saw 39 more residents tested positive on top of two residents and three carers confirmed previously.
