Organized and funded by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency and Film Production Financing Scheme, the exhibition brings to life the gritty atmosphere of old Kowloon City through meticulously designed sets and traditional craftsmanship.
Spanning eight themed zones, the exhibition faithfully reconstructs key locations from the film, including a dentist's clinic, a bone-setting clinic, a fishball factory, and a bustling street market.

One of the highlights is a rooftop installation featuring a large projection screen that alternates between day and night scenes of the historic Kowloon Walled City, complete with sound effects—such as the roar of airplanes flying overhead—to evoke the neighborhood’s unique past.
Traditional Hong Kong craftsmanship takes center stage in several displays.
At the entrance, visitors are greeted by a massive hand-painted floral archway, reminiscent of those used in Hungry Ghost Festival celebrations. Above the mock "Walled City" street market hangs an iron archway bearing the district’s name, its design inspired by 1980s Hong Kong building gates. Even the exhibition’s flooring incorporates authenticity—some tiles were salvaged from demolished heritage buildings.
The exhibition not only celebrates the film’s success but also preserves the cultural memory of Kowloon Walled City, blending cinematic artistry with Hong Kong’s vanishing traditions.
