A Daiso store incident in South Korea has sparked public outrage after video showed a store worker kneeling to apologize after reminding a child about safety, prompting the mother's furious reaction.
The November 21 incident at a Suncheon, South Jeolla Province location began when an employee cautioned a child running near the store entrance that it was "dangerous." The mother immediately erupted, shouting at the worker who then knelt with hands clasped, quietly explaining the safety concerns.
The mother retorted: "I already stopped my child! Discipline is the mother's job, what gives a store employee the right? Telling my child where to go..." She continued berating the worker for "staring at the baby" instead of focusing on work.
Other customers intervened, asking the woman to stop, with witnesses confirming the child had been running and the employee offered only polite safety advice.
The viral video has drawn massive online support for the employee, with many condemning the mother as "public nuisance." Daiso has placed the worker on paid leave with counseling support and will provide legal assistance if the employee pursues action. The company emphasized employee protection remains its top priority.
