The earthquake, which occurred at a shallow depth of approximately 10 kilometers, was centered about 211 kilometers southwest of Mae Sot in Thailand's Tak province, as reported by Thailand's earthquake monitoring department.
The tremors were felt in parts of Thailand's capital, Bangkok, prompting residents to evacuate buildings as a precaution.
Thai media outlets, including The Nation Thailand and Thai Enquirer, reported that no casualties or significant damage have been reported in Thailand so far.
However, the shaking was noticeable in certain areas of Bangkok, lasting for about 10 seconds.
Some office workers described feeling slightly dizzy and noted that ceiling lights were swaying, comparing the sensation to previous earthquakes.
Khaosod English reported that buildings as high as 11 and 12 stories experienced noticeable swaying, with hanging lights swinging and water in rooftop tanks showing slight waves.
Thai authorities are closely monitoring the situation and assessing any potential impacts.
