Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (0388) announced on Monday the appointment of Phillip Wu as managing director and head of trading operations, and the appointment of Sally Kwok Hom-siu as managing director, head of connect.
Wu will join HKEX on October 2025 and will oversee the trading operations teams across both cash and derivatives markets. HKEX chief operating officer Vanessa Lau described Wu as “a seasoned senior operations executive” whose expertise will strengthen the exchange’s operating capabilities and resilience.
Wu joins HKEX from HSBC (0005), where he held multiple senior roles including managing director, group chief control officer for global operations, deputy chief operating officer, and global procurement.
Separately, Kwok’s appointment will take effect on January 1, 2026. In this role, Kwok will lead a newly established Connect team within the markets division, consolidating HKEX’s Connect-related initiatives across all asset classes, reporting to Gregory Yu Hock-ken, HKEX head of markets.
"Connect is one of the HKEX’s most important and successful franchises, and Kwok’s vision and expertise will be vital to its next chapter of growth and development," Yu said.
Kwok is currently co-head of trading, overseeing the cash equities market and the Stock Connect programme, as well as client services and market structure. She has held senior positions at HKEX for more than 17 years and previously worked at UBS.
