Hong Kong students have showcased their academic excellence in this year's International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) examinations, with an impressive 55 top scorers from 18 schools achieving the maximum score of 45 points.
According to the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), a total of 2,630 students from Hong Kong sat for the exams this year, achieving an impressive average score of 36.86–significantly higher than the global average of 30.58.
To assist parents in exploring IB options for their children, "Sing Tao Education" compiled key details on the admissions processes for the 18 schools that produced this year's top scorers, including grade levels, application deadlines, and tuition fees.
Among the 18 schools, students from St. Paul's Co-educational College recorded the highest average IBDP score in the city at 42.4 and boast three top scorers.
The school offers grades from Form 1 to Form 6, but the admission dates for the 2026/2027 academic year have yet to be announced. According to the school website, the tuition fees for IBDP classes in the 2025/26 year range from HK$84,300 to HK$123,400.
Following closely, German Swiss International School achieved an average IBDP score of 41.2 and recorded nine top scorers. The school offers classes from kindergarten through Year 13 and accepts applications year-round. Tuition fees range from HK$197,000 to HK$256,700, pending approval from the Education Bureau.
The English Schools Foundation (ESF) also reported outstanding results, with its two all-through schools and five secondary schools increasing their top scorer count by over 15 this year.
ESF Sha Tin College led the way, producing 10 students with perfect scores of 45. The College caters to students in Years 7 to 13 and is currently accepting applications for the 2026/27 academic year until September 30, with tuition fees ranging from HK$167,600 to HK$181,100.
ESF West Island School recorded four top scorers this year, achieving an average IBDP score of 37.3. It shares a similar application process and tuition fees as ESF Sha Tin College.
ESF Renaissance College, a private independent school, saw three of its graduates become top scorers, achieving an average score of 36. The school offers IB programmes from Year 1 to 13 and is accepting central applications for Years 1 to 7 until September 30. Tuition fees for the 2025/26 academic year range from HK$148,100 to HK$195,700.
Other ESF schools include Island School, Discovery College, King George V School, and South Island School also contribute to the pool of top scorers while maintaining competitive average scores spanning from 35.2 to 37.1.
These schools also share a similar application procedure and deadline as ESF Renaissance College, with tuition fees ranging from HK$162,100 to HK$215,300.
Notably, this year also saw the emergence of two IB top scorers from Po Leung Kuk Ngan Po Ling College (NPL) and Christian Alliance International School, with average scores of 39.1 and 37.3.
NPL offers classes from Form 1 to Form 6, with Form 1 applications starting in October and Forms 2 to 4 opening in May 2026. Tuition fees for the 2025/26 academic year range from HK$35,200 to HK$96,500.
Meanwhile, Christian Alliance International School provides classes from preparatory through Grade 12, with application deadlines of October 31 and December 2. Tuition fees for the 2025/26 academic year range from HK$136,300 to HK$228,300.
