Innovation and Technology (I&T) is one of the core engines for Hong Kong’s future economic growth. As the largest I&T ecosystem in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) is bringing together innovative minds within its community of 2,200 technology companies from 25 countries and regions. This vibrant community is at the heart of a global initiative to harness the soft power of its exceptional network.
Last month, HKSTP celebrated the launch of the I&T Powerhouse with “Dawn of Visionaries”. Building on the momentum from its global brand campaign ‘Keep Up’, which calls on individuals to stay ahead with game-changing innovations, the event brought together like-minded visionaries, showcasing the spirit of collaboration and forging connections among innovators passionate about making a global impact.
At the ceremony, Chairman of HKSTP Dr Sunny Chai said the launch of HKSTP I&T Powerhouse marks a “new chapter”.
“Success is all about commitment and persistence. Think of us as individual power generators, each contributing our unique talents and creativity to propel success,” said Dr Sunny Chai, highlighting that “people” are the greatest asset – the soft power.
The event also featured heavyweight advisors and diverse voices, from the exceptional network of Advisors, Advocates, Alumni, Mentors, Partners, and Creators, including Dr. Allan Zeman, Chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group and Amb George Hara, Group Chairman and CEO of DEFTA Partner, both of whom have been appointed as Advisors to the HKSTP I&T Powerhouse.
Dr Allan Zeman shared that this initiative encapsulates HKSTP’s work for the past decade, and serves as a beacon to the endless possibilities in innovation. Echoing this sentiment, Amb George Hara also encouraged the brightest minds to shape a promising future for the I&T ecosystem.
Looking ahead, the I&T Powerhouse will inspire, engage, and empower the next generation of innovators, creating a community where ideas can flourish and shaping the future of technology and beyond.
