Towngas, unit top ESG scores

The Hong Kong and China Gas Company (0003), also known as Towngas, and its unit Towngas Smart Energy (1083) both ranked in the top one percent of Chinese companies with the highest environmental, social and corporate governance scores globally, says an assessment by S&P Global.

Also, the two were included in the China edition of the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the first time.

Towngas Smart Energy was also the only company in the industry to be named an "Industry Mover" by S&P.

S&P Global has published a global version of the Sustainability Yearbook for the 16th consecutive year. This year, the rating agency for the first time targeted the China market and released a China edition of its assessment

The Industry Mover title is given to companies ranked in the top 15 percent globally in the S&P Global ESG score with the greatest improvement in their scores among their industry peers compared with the previous year.
