Tycoon celebrates 'precious' 95 years

Macau gaming and property tycoon Lui Che-woo celebrated his 95th birthday in Hong Kong recently, with the keyword preciousness.

Chairman of Galaxy Entertainment and K Wah International Lui had celebrities from the political, business, education and social sectors gather to celebrate his birthday with his family, friends, partners and senior staff.

Lui Che-woo's five children - Francis Lui Yiu-tung, Lawrence Lui Yiu-nam, Alexander Lui Yiu-wah, Paddy Tang Lui Wai-yu and Eileen Lui Wai-ling - hosted a grand celebratory dinner. The theme revolved around a Chinese character that means 12 on the left side plus 83 on the right side - the age of Lui Che-woo - signifying the preciousness and wisdom of life.

Lui said: "I am 95 this year, and I am grateful to God for blessing me with children and grandchildren and a happy life. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all and concern you have always shown our family."
