Adapter short circuit sparks boat fire at Tuen Mun Typhoon Shelter

An adapter short circuit set a boat ablaze at Tuen Mun Typhoon Shelter on Monday morning. No injuries were reported.

The incident occurred around 10.31am when police received a report of smoke and flames coming from a boat at the shelter off Sam Shing Street.

The fire had already been put out by the time emergency personnel arrived at the scene. 

Preliminary investigations suggested the fire was likely caused by a short circuit in an onboard adapter. 

It was understood that there were no injuries and no  evacuations were required.
