The Hong Kong Observatory reported generally fine weather across South China on Thursday morning (Mar 12), with urban temperatures hovering around 17 degrees to 24 degrees.
However, the watchdog warns that pressure is rising over the region as the approaching monsoon will affect the coast of Guangdong gradually tonight.
By Friday, temperatures are expected to plunge, as a nine-day weather forecast shows that the urban minimum will drop to 16 degrees, an eight-degree fall from Thursday's peak.
Regional weather forecast also indicates temperatures in several districts will decrease to around 14 or 15 degrees. Ta Kwu Ling is expected to see the mercury drop as low as 13 degrees.
Looking ahead, the city will experience windy conditions over the next couple of days, with cool mornings and dry afternoons. The weather will remain mainly fine, and temperatures are expected to gradually rebound early next week.
