Hong Kong University (HKU) stated on Tuesday that it has recently discovered mainland agents claiming to guarantee admission to HKU and showing applicants forged admission letters. After the investigation, the university confirmed that all related documents were fake.
The university clarified it never authorises mainland agencies for recruitment and offers no professor recommendations or irregular admission channels.
HKU stressed that all applicants must apply through the official system, and the admission results will only be released on the system.
Anyone found to have falsified academic qualifications or obtained admission through fraudulent means will be expelled from the school and will be held legally responsible.
The university urges all students to be vigilant and apply through the official channels on its website.
