Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and senior government officials attended a meeting on Monday to study the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, which concluded last Thursday.

Lee said that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Hong Kong had overcome numerous challenges and achieved steady improvements in its economy, people’s livelihoods, and international standing.
The Five-Year Plan sets out a series of national economic and development objectives aimed at strengthening the country’s economy from 2021 through 2025.
Lee stressed the importance of thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session amid a complex and evolving global environment.
He added that Hong Kong must continue to leverage its unique advantages under the “One Country, Two Systems” principle as the nation enters the 15th Five-Year Plan period next year.
Lee also reiterated his commitment to fostering long-term prosperity and stability for Hong Kong’s economy and society.
