Almost all hotels under the Miramar Group have been fully booked for the first three days of the National Day "Golden Week," with a growth of 13 to 17 percent expected for the entire eight-day holiday, Chief Operations Officer of Miramar Group Alan Chan Chung-yee announced Wednesday.
He noted that 70 percent of travelers during Golden Week come from mainland China, with an increase in family travelers this year due to the holiday coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival. In the first three days of the holiday, the occupancy of Miramar hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui reached 91 percent after accounting for the 10 percent of rooms under renovation, while Wan Chai and Causeway Bay saw occupancy rates of 94 percent.
The eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn "Golden Week" holiday in mainland began Wednesday, with an expected 1.54 million mainland visitors to Hong Kong, an approximately 11 percent increase from the same period last year.
Speaking on a radio program, Chan noted that while Miramar’s two hotels located in Tsim Sha Tsui and Causeway Bay have slightly decreased by 4 percent compared to last year, the average room price has increased by 9 percent, resulting in actual revenue growth.

Regarding industry promotions and offers, Chan revealed that the group’s hotels are launching various joint promotional activities combining dining and accommodation during the period, garnering positive responses.
He further noted that the festive atmosphere for National Day and Mid-Autumn is vibrant in Hong Kong, particularly with local cultural experiences like the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance. As traveler preferences shift, more visitors are now choosing to come to Hong Kong based on specific events rather than just for casual sightseeing.
