The jury of the border bomb plot in the 2020 trial continues deliberations on Wednesday (Sep 3) at the High Court regarding whether the eight suspects were guilty, High Court judge Johnny Chan Jong-herng noted.
Since beginning their deliberations this Monday (Sep 1), the jury has spent approximately 23.5 hours in discussion and cannot come to a decision as of Wednesday.
The deliberations will be continued on Thursday (Sep 4).
The defendants are 41-year-old Ho Cheuk-wai, 30-year-old Lee Ka-pan, 32-year-old Ng Tsz-lok, 35-year-old Cheung Ka-chun, 33-year-old Yeung Yi-sze, 29-year-old Cheung Cheuk-ki, 23-year-old Ho Pui-yan, and 25-year-old Chow Ho-man.
The first seven defendants face a charge of conspiracy to commit bombing of prescribed objects, for allegedly conspiring to cause death or grievous bodily harm to others by an explosive substance from November 2, 2019, to March 8, 2020. Chow was charged with allegedly making explosives.
