The final of the National Games bowling competition reached its thrilling conclusion on Sunday, with Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui among the many fans rallying for the local teams in the mass participation event.
In an intense five-a-side team format, the Hong Kong team enjoyed robust backing from the crowd throughout the Kai Tak venue.
Alongside Law, notable figures such as Yeung Tak-keung, head of the National Games Coordination Office, and Sports Commissioner George Tsoi Kin-pan were also present to cheer on the local team.
The competition was contested in 18 Baker-style games, with many families of team members showing solidarity in the stands.
Highlighting the team’s rigorous training, wife of the team member Kam Siu-lun expressed support and pride in her husband’s rediscovered interest in bowling.
As this was the first time bowling was included in the National Games, a spectator from Chengdu, Sichuan province, noted that every team aimed to showcase their abilities.
She praised the performance of the Sichuan team and the excellent facilities at the Kai Tak Sports Park Bowling Centre, hoping the team could deliver their best performance.
