Kho, fresh off his gold and bronze medal wins at the Hangzhou Asian Games, expressed enthusiasm about competing at the historic Fanling Golf Course.
"It will be a special experience to play in front of friends and family," Kho remarked, underscoring his training over several tours to maintain peak performance.
In the lead-up to the event, China Golf Association (CGA) Secretary-General Wei Qingfeng visited Hong Kong, commending the seamless collaboration with the GAHKC.
Wei emphasized the significance of hosting the competition in Hong Kong, describing the city as an international financial hub and a gateway for cultural exchange.
"Hong Kong is an international financial center and a window for external exchange, offering audiences from Hong Kong and the mainland the opportunity to experience a rich golf atmosphere and witness the development of sports and culture in the city," Wei said.
Wei also revealed that the Fanling course would present a heightened challenge for the players, given the windy circumstances in November.
GAHKC Chief Executive Officer Danny Lai acknowledged the strength of rival teams but remained confident in Hong Kong’s home advantage.
He said the Hong Kong players have honed their skills at Fanling, giving them a unique edge, adding that the National Games would further cement Hong Kong’s reputation as a "golf capital," spotlighting its rich history and expertise in hosting major tournaments.
The golf competitions, comprising individual and team events for both men and women, will run from November 13 to 16 at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling, with players battling through four rounds over four days.
