Hong Kong's public services are progressively returning to normal after the Observatory downgraded the Rainstorm Warning Signal to Amber at 11.45am Monday (May 29).
The Hospital Authority announced that all general outpatient clinics, specialist outpatient clinics, allied health services and other daytime services would resume operations within two hours of the Black Rain warning cancellation.
Patients with scheduled appointments for chronic diseases or specialist consultations who were unable to attend due to severe weather conditions are advised to follow the instructions on their appointment slips to reschedule.
Those who booked general outpatient appointments through the telephone appointment system or the "HA Go" mobile app can make new appointments one hour after the Black Rain warning was lifted.
A Hospital Authority spokesperson acknowledged that some patients missed their appointments due to the extreme weather and anticipates increased demand for medical services in the coming days.
The authority has implemented measures to enhance staffing and services to meet the expected surge in patient numbers, pledging to provide necessary assistance to those in need.
Meanwhile, the Transport Department confirmed that all driving test centers and written test centers will resume services for appointments scheduled at 2pm or later.
Candidates with driving tests booked for 1pm or earlier will be individually notified about alternative test dates.
For vehicle inspection services, those who couldn't attend during the Black Rainstorm Warning period or within two hours after its cancellation can reschedule their appointments for Tuesday.
The Observatory had initially issued the Black Rainstorm Warning at 9.10am, followed by a Red Rainstorm Warning at 11.05am before further downgrading to Amber Rainstorm Warning at 11.45am.
