Sources noted that the male suspect connected to the disappearance and potential murder of 49-year-old Lisa - a long-time Vietnamese resident of Hong Kong - has fled, while no human body parts have been discovered so far after police found the evidence at the waterfront in Tai Kok Tsui.
The victim's parents held a memorial at the crime scene in Cheung Sha Wan's Castle Peak Road today, believing their daughter was killed.
The 34-year-old Vietnamese male suspect, surnamed Nguyen, entered Hong Kong illegally three years ago and had been living in a subdivided flat where Lisa was last seen on Saturday (Jun 21).
According to friends, Nguyen has a criminal record in Vietnam and was already wanted by Vietnamese authorities before fleeing to Hong Kong.
The Vietnamese community has circulated Nguyen's details online, warning others that he may be dangerous. Lisa's friends claim he stole her money and dismembered her, though police have not confirmed these details.
Lisa, described as a kind woman who lived in Hong Kong for 36 years, vanished after entering Nguyen's flat. Surveillance footage showed Nguyen making multiple trips from the building carrying heavy bags, which he disposed of in nearby bins.
Authorities suspect Nguyen may have fled Hong Kong and are coordinating with international law enforcement. Forensic teams continue searching for evidence, including items found near West Kowloon's waterfront.
