The funeral of the late Lui Che-woo, who chaired Macau casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group and Hong Kong property developer K. Wah International Holdings, was attended by a multitude of politicians and prominent business figures on Wednesday to pay respects and bid farewell.
The tycoon passed away on November 7 at the age of 95. The public memorial and funeral procession will be held on Thursday (Dec 5) at the Hong Kong Buddhist Cemetery.
Liaison Office director Zheng Yanxiong, chief executive John Lee Ka-chiu, former chief executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen, ex-Financial Secretary Antony Leung Kam-chung, Wheelock chairman Douglas Woo Chun-kuen and Centaline Property Agency founder Shih Wing-ching are among the politicians and business figures to pay their respects to Lui.
Over 80 flower wreaths were sent to Hong Kong Funeral Home, including from Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, ex-chief executive Leung Chun-ying, executive council convenor Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee, actor Donnie Yen Ji-dan, singers Andy Lau Tak-Wah and Jacky Cheung Hok-yau, as well as ex-NBA star Yao Ming, etc.
