The incident took place around 6.42 pm yesterday when a section of the glass facade unexpectedly fell, injuring three women and a man. Emergency services responded promptly, and the area was immediately secured by security personnel.
In response to the collapse, the shopping mall's management acted quickly to prevent further incidents by covering the affected area with wooden boards.
Additionally, the pedestrian path opposite the site has been cordoned off. Despite these measures, remnants of broken glass were still visible on the ground as workers began constructing scaffolding to facilitate repairs.
A storekeeper located opposite the shopping mall recounted hearing a loud commotion the previous night and witnessing the aftermath of the fallen glass curtain. They reported the incident to the police, seeking assistance.
The storekeeper also recalled a similar incident during the recent Typhoon Yagi, which was quietly resolved by the mall management as there were no injuries.
Local residents expressed concerns about the recurring nature of such accidents and urged the mall to be more transparent about such incidents.
Some mentioned taking precautionary measures, such as walking on covered paths when passing by the shopping malls, to avoid potential hazards.
